College Mentors

Going off to college can be an exciting time for a graduating senior, but it can also be scary. Some students will go off to college in another state where they know no one and some will go to a school that has over 20,000 in attendance and their first class will have more than 100 students in it. That is why Houston Christian High School has developed the college mentor program. The purpose of this program is to provide graduating seniors with guidance and advice as they adjust to their new environment and this new time in their life. The program will match Northwest Academy alumni or Houston Christian High School alumni with one or more graduating seniors that plan to attend the volunteer’s college alma matter. This is a fairly new program at Houston Christian High School, so we are asking Northwest Academy alumni and Houston Christian High School alumni to volunteer to help recent graduates through this time of transition. The relationship between the college mentor and the student is entirely what they make of it. For more information on becoming a college mentor, please contact the Director of Advancement at (713) 580-6027 for more information.
